Frequently Asked Questions

When should we start working with your team?

We begin working with students during Spring of their junior year for full-service consulting.

What all is included in this service?

Full guidance throughout the entire application process for three Service Academies and two ROTC scholarship applications. This includes:

  • Application/timeline management

  • Essay preparation

  • Interview preparation

  • Letter of Recommendation guidance

  • Candidate Fitness Assessment preparation

  • Medical clearance guidance

  • Congressional nomination application and interview guidance

  • ROTC application preparation

We simplify the process and keep your student on track.

Outside of planned sessions, your coach is available to answer any questions as they arise throughout the process.

What does my student need to do to be successful?

While we help your child prepare, your child must commit to additional preparation outside of our sessions. It truly depends on your child's Scholar, Athlete, Leader profile, along with where you're located.

We only take on clients we believe have a realistic chance of earning an appointment. Please schedule a strategy session prior to booking consulting with us.

How important is the interview to my child's success?

It depends! A variety of factors impact how important your child's interviews are. While liaison officer interviews are important, the unknown factor is often the Congressional nomination. Depending on the competitiveness of your Congressional district, your student may need to perform extremely well just to get a nomination. In other districts, there is virtually no competition and they simply need to meet the minimums to earn a nomination. However, the method your Member of Congress uses to nominate students (ranked or unranked) greatly impacts the importance of interview performance.

Who will my student be working with?

We carefully assign coaches for full-service and success coaching based on your child's chosen academy. Each of our coaches is a highly experienced graduate from their respective academy:

  • Christine Bucholz (USAFA 2003) – Lead Air Force Academy Coach

  • Amanda Rowles (USNA 2010) – Lead Naval Academy Coach

  • Marissa Balsley (USMA 2010) – Lead West Point Coach

  • Natalie Shuntich (USCGA 2012) – Lead Coast Guard Academy Coach

Trish Dach, our Head Service Academy Coach, oversees and coordinates all coaching, ensuring each student receives strategic alignment.

What if I don't earn an appointment?

We keep working with students until they are offered an appointment to a Service Academy.
